A deep horizontal crease between lower lip and chin can form for 2 reasons:

1.    Loss of tissue volume with age or within certain families
2.    Excessive activity of the chin muscles.

Skillful Botox and tissue filling administration by an experienced Aesthetic Physician can markedly soften or obliterate this crease.

Incorrect administration by an unqualified or beginner injector can lead to weakening and drooping of the lower lip with an abnormal smile that will recover over 3 – 4 months.  Therefore caution as to whom you choose to treat you is in order.
