These are those lines or deep furrows that run downward from the corners of the

Softening or removing them requires:

1. Tissue filling injections to plump out the thinning tissue
2. Possible Botox treatment of the muscles that subconsciously pull down the

    corners of the mouth.
3. Possible local liposuction of the adjacent jowel and even combined with
    face-lifting.   Face-lifting alone is not usually adequate and is often best 
    combined with Botox and filler injections.

Melomental folds vary in severity, from simple early loss of volume beneath the corners

of the mouth, to really deep furrows right down to the jaw line.  It is best to start

early on in this process as timeous treatment will prevent progression to more severe

degrees.The above example shows what simple early intervention can safely acheive.
