Minimising the chances of bleeding and bruising
Injections of Botox, tissue fillers and mesotherapy can cause some external bleeding and bruising (bleeding into the tissues). Current or recent use of anticoagulant medications makes this more likely. Plans will need to be made to stop these before an injection procedure. Apirin/Disprin/Salicylates found in Grandpa and many headache and cold medicines should ideally not have been taken for 7 – 10 days prior, even in tiny amounts. Anti-inflammatory medication like Voltaren, Brufen should not have been taken for 2 – 3 days prior. Beware of taking them in the form of Mybulen or Myprodol or similar, just before an injection procedure. Anticolagulant use like Warfarin must please be reported to us so that proper planning can be done. |
